Yep, that's it, thanks! I also ported my mails/archives to IMAPdir, it's way better when you have the possibility to have folders not (only) in the INBOX.
I left my old "~/Maildir" as is, created another "~/IMAPdir" folder holding a link "~/IMAPdir/INBOX -> ~/Maildir". Then I moved the subfolders to the IMAPdir. At last, everything works as supposed to be.
