I need to find out exactly what is working for you and what is not, Ryan.
When you find something that you think is an error, you need to try to
reproduce it, and then tell us what you do on your client (netscape) to
provoke this error.

This is what is written to the log file.

When you say "it" complains a lot, are you talking about netscape, any
other client, or about Binc IMAP writing things to the logs?

This is not an error, it's just that the server is verbose in its logging.
The first time you select a mailbox, there will necessarily not be a cache
file inside.
Is this a recurring item in your logs?
Is the client complaining, or is it just log output?

You need to rephrase that sentence for it to make any sense to me :-).
"Then my messages disappear" - can you provide some more information about
this problem? What mailbox, how did these messages "disappear" and so on.

That's correct. The depot setting decides wether you want IMAPdir or
Maildir++. The difference is described in the FAQ.

No, this is what type of mailboxes you have, and Binc IMAP only supports
Maildir at this point.

This is the path to your users' Maildir, relative to the users' home area
or the area that your authenticator (checkpassword) changes to.

If you were using Maildir++, I understand perfectly why this would not
work. All mailboxes must be under INBOX. It doesn't work to rename
INBOX/Trash to Trash/Trash.

This error is usually caused by the client aborting all connections, or a
plain text client connecting to SSL, or an SSL client connecting to a
plain texet server.

This looks like you might have either killed checkpassword manually, or
the authenticator or bincimapd crashed.

Yes?
