Here is a suggestion to solving the hanging bincimapd problem. It compiles and runs here, but I have done no performance testing or any testing in detail.

Note that this patch has been written for the already patched version of bincimap-1.2.0b1 (the "Lasse" patch) :-). If you did not patch bincimap-1.2.0b1 yet, you may want to do so, otherwise edit the patch where there are collisions.
