Andy,

I have reported this bug to Opera, but... what would be the consequences of treating this as a NOOP in this case, since the purpose of a "CLOSE" is to return to the "authenticated" state (which is the state after a successful "LOGIN" and what Courier does, <cough>, <cough>)?

Regards,
Henry

Hello,
Opera7 received a "The command "CLOSE" is not supported" message from
bincIMAP. I have posted the Opera log showing this to
http://www.instantiated.ca/download/bincimapd-opera-2003-08-27.log.
I am running bincimapd that has been patched with incimap-1.2.0b1-patch001-
hang.patch and is running on OpenBSD 3.2.
Is this a bug in Opera or in bincIMAP?

Opera sent CLOSE right after LOGIN. CLOSE is only defined in selected state, that is - it has to SELECT something in order to CLOSE it.

This is a bug in Opera. (Opera's IMAP communication is crude - I hope it
will improve with time).

Andy :-)
