1.2.1-1 is out. :-) Release focus:
- Compilation fixes for OpenBSD - Fixed problem with STATUS failing to report the correct number of new messages in a mailbox - Notes on environment requirements added to man pages.
Did you do any work on the MIME code? I ask because when I tried to upgrade before to 1.2.0 from the trusty 1.0.24, mime handling broke somewhat for OSX 10.2 Mail clients. The client can retrieve the attachments but the client prints out a "text/plainthis message is not in a readable format" type garbage at the end of where the attachment is. Either the Mac Mail client is getting confused or binc is sending something different than the earlier versions because the 10.1 client doesn't seem to have this strange parsing issue.
I tried to diagnose the issue, but manually typing IMAP to fetch an image attachment is, to say the least, cumbersome and I was very short of time. I finally gave up and downgraded back to 1.0.24 as it is a little slow but extremely stable in my environment. The next time I go about trying to upgrade to the latest stable I'll have tools like tcpdump at hand, that just won't be for a while.
Therefore, I apologize but instead of giving you all a patch or even a real bug report I leave you with "it kinda-sorta doesn't work". The good news was that it was highly reproducible so the next time I go to try it out I should be able to give something useful. In the meanwhile I felt bad for having a reproducible problem that I was just sitting on, I simply don't have the time to diagnose it, or even give a proper bug report.
C=)
P.S. The attachments came through just fine, just for some reason the Mail client was giving warnings that wouldn't go away. Warnings that were printed inline in the message right where the attachment went.
P.P.S. This was Mail v.1.2.5(v522) on OSX 10.2. The earlier version of Mail on OSX 10.1 didn't seem to exhibit any issues with 1.2.0, but I was not the person who tested it and so I'm not 100% sure if this is the case.
