I am getting concerned, and wanted to know if I could easily cp the /opt/bincimap dir to an almost empty /var dir, and link it to / so the link would be /var/bincimap and thereby saving space in /opt
Do you think this would be a problem?
Binc seem's happy living anywhere. It's only under /opt as default as it follows the File System Hierarchy Standard.
I think the only problem is a number of scripts are created by the configure process - they should all be under /etc/opt/bincimap/service or /etc/opt/bincimap/xinetd depending on how your running binc. If you update these, mv /opt/bincimap to /var/bincimap and change the jail path in /etc/opt/bincimap/bincimap.conf - that should be everything ...
hopefully :)
Andy.
