Yes, I saw that, but in the comments there are people squawking about it so it
may/may not happen. That said, I also took that to be something native in
vWorkspace. We're running 8.5 but I've still got a 7.6 server I haven't blown
away yet, I suppose I could check it there.
All that aside, I've actually been trying to test this directly without
vWorkspace in the mix at all and it still fails. I believe Espi is likely on
target about it not being supported except if you're running TS. That's the
next check, just for sanity. I can stand one up for testing.

What version of vWorkspace? I found this article for V8 that said Time Zone
support would be removed in the next major release.
http://documents.software.dell.com/DOC77248#_Deprecation_of_Support
Support for the following features is planned to be removed in the next major
release of vWorkspace:
* Virtual IP (VIP-IT)
* File and Registry Redirection
* Time Zones
Thanks

I believe thats your problem. AFAIK, Time Zone Redirection is a feature of
Terminal Server.
Time zone redirection is possible only when connecting to at least a Windows
Server 2003 terminal server with a client that is using RDP 5.1 or later.

I've been testing with RDP 8.1 but everything should be at least 6.1 which
appears should be new enough to support it. We aren't running terminal
services, well at least not on a server, these are connections to Win7 machines
directly, either physical or virtual. That's what I was beginning to wonder
about was if it even works if you aren't running TS.

Which version of terminal services and RDP are you using? There are minimum
version requirements for both.

Anyone doing time zone redirection in their environment? I've been trying to
get it working in our VDI environment so the folks on the West coast will stop
changing it manually and killing their network connection. We are using
vWorkspace to send them to a full desktop VM, not RDSH, so I don't know if
that's the issue or not. The GPO is getting applied, but the time display /
zone does update as expected. I even set the policy in the local machine
policy but that didn't have any effect either. Am I setting the right control?
