Well, it will interface with Procurement, if Procurement decides to do that
workload.

Also announced this week at BUILD is the Windows Store for businesses that is
coming with Windows 10. All apps, will be available through a store designed to
allow businesses to pay for and manage licenses for software using normal
procurement means.

And I'll open the bar I've always wanted right next door. I'll get them coming,
you get them going!

DSC lacks some SCCM features that I’m pretty sure are popular too. Maintenance

Have had this convo a few times lately. I think the hardest part is our
environment, and we know many others never never go full BYOD/Mobile. We will
always have thoudands of on-prem systems, VDI, etc. We will always need an
Configuration Management tool (doesn’t have to be on-prem) to manage these
devices to ConfigMgr or Intune, whatever it is will be around a while. It just
may not be in its current form.

Still think its pretty hard to deploy a bunch of software and get some
inventory back… in either system.

Does anyone else feel we’re going to see one more version of SCCM and that’s it?

Windows Powershell Desired State Configuration (DSC)

• Don’t need SCCM to do compliance settings

OneGet in Win 10

• Let’s you distribute software

Lots of SCCM developers moving over to Intune

Looks like it’s time for me to see if I can open that liquor store I always
wanted to open.

Pretty interesting article about this:
