I have a few servers in my environment that have run out of space on their OS hard drives, which has caused some software updates to fail to download. Or to be stuck at 0% Downloading.
Not an issue on the machines that are not stuck at 0% Downloading. I just jump on, change their cache location to another drive, and for the most part, all is well. My problem is on a few that are stuck at 0% Downloading. When I try and move the cache folder, it tells me it's obviously in use. And if I go into Software Center, I can't cancel them. the Cancel button is greyed out completely. My question is, is there a way for me to "kill" those downloads long enough for me to be able to move the cache folder without having to resort to a reboot? I tried killing the SMS service and also restarting it, but that wouldn't allow me to change the cache location. These are production machines, and I can't reboot them without jumping through hoops. Thanks, Erik
