Hi, I have a Windows Server 2008 standard 32bit that is used for scanning documents into.
It has a single share in it, with maybe 200 folders in that share for each user. For some reason the shares become in accessible (including c$, admin$ etc) when you try and get to it by name. It just says that the specified name is unavailable. If you attach by IP, it works fine. However, If I ping the name, then I get a response back with the correct IP address. So name resolution is fine. All three AD DNS servers have a single entry for the server, and the name/ ip is correct in all. I have reregistered DNS on the server and also flushed the dns caches on the clients. Time synchronisation across the domain is fine. If the server is then rebooted it works as normal for a day or so and then the issue returns. Event logs on the server show nothing at all at fault. Any ideas of what to look at next?
