I have experienced this also. I got around it by slipstreaming the packages into the deployment process through the "Apply Patches" task sequence step. I didn't want to have to manually track down and download all of the post SP1 Win 7 updates (about like 170 updates +/-) so on a whim I tried the steps outlined below and it worked.
· Build a win 7 test VM with no updates · Set windows updates to download only · Check for updates and let the updates download to the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download · Copied all of the folders out of there into a separate location · Imported them into the MDT as OS packages · Set them to install during the "Apply Patches" task sequence Thanks, Uriah Patton IUSM Department of Pediatrics From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Séguin, Mario Sent: Thursday, July 16, 2015 2:39 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MDT-OSD] MDT Slow running Windows updates Hello, On all our machine with the latest updates are not the MDT task sequence for "Windows Updates" takes several hours.
