Health Explorer - will let you run your recovery: [cid:[email protected]]
If you want a task available in the console - create a "task" and not a recovery - and target it to the same class that the alert workflow is targeting. From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Nelson, Geoffrey D Sent: Wednesday, July 22, 2015 1:25 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [msmom] How do you manually run a monitor's recovery task I have used the Windows Service template to create a monitor for a service. For an alert that is generated when this service is stopped, there are pre-configured tasks to start and stop the service and check dependent services. I went into the Diagnostic and Recovery tab in the monitor's properties and created a new Recovery Task (because when this service stops or fails to start, there is a cmd that usually needs to be run before it can successfully start.) I configured the recovery task to not automatically run, and then created an override to enable it for all members of the class being monitored. I cannot find anywhere in the console that will let me run this recovery task for an alert on this service. After creating the recovery task, all I see is the standard start/stop service and check dependent services tasks. Should you be able to manually run a recovery task in the SCOM Console? I would assume yes, but I can not find my new recovery task anywhere in the console when viewing an alert. ------------------------------------------------ Geoff Nelson Lead Systems Administrator ITS - Systems Enterprise Systems Management
