Does anyone know what process cluster validation uses to generate its list of
"missing" updates?
Does it employ a cab file and leverage the mbsa infrastructure? Or is it just
some kind of WMI query?
There is a large discrepancy in the "relevant" patches of our patch tool (3rd
party) and what cluster validation reports. When we look at the large list
generated by cluster validation a large number of them are superseded or are
optional updates, not something we generally install on servers. Cluster
validation just seems not too smart.
