Background first: I was trying to deploy Endpoint Protection to a Win8.1 lab unsuccessfully. Found I needed to upgrade SCCM. Figured if CU3 for sp1 had the client, I might as well just install sp2. Took a snapshot of the server and upgraded. No joy. Went back to the snapshot, installed CU3 - clients are there, all is well - or so I thought.
Now I'm getting the "The machine name for Resource ID '16777279' cannot be retrieved from the database." error when I attempt to push the client. Did sp1 change settings to the sql database as well and now I've hosed it by forgetting to snapshot/revert it as well? If so, would upgrading to sp1 again fix the issue? Or is this totally unrelated? Google isn't helping much. -- Organization and good planning are just crutches for people that can't handle stress and caffeine. - unknown
