Haven't used another ConfigMgr server as the external source, but this is how it works when the source is a standard WSUS server that has the updates downloaded. The metadata you import refers to the filenames that reside in the WsusContent -folder so that's why you need that to be the same in the disconnected environment.
Consider creating a standard WSUS server that downloads the patches to the default WsusContent folder and use that as your metadata and update file source. Date: Fri, 18 Sep 2015 13:07:16 +0000 I’ve been able to import a couple updates if I determine the exact folder in which it was downloaded. I’ve had to perform the import function 1 patch at a time, I sincerely hope this isn’t the way it has to be done for all? My understanding is that when using SCCM, the WsusContent folder doesn’t contain the downloaded update. The updates get downloaded to the package source folder you choose when creating the deployment package. I did try what you suggested with the same results with file cannot be found. Steps are quite simple: On the WSUS server connected to the Internet: 1. wsusutil.exe export export.xml.gz export.log and copy the export.xml.gz to USB drive 2. copy the WsusContent folder to USB drive On ConfigMgr server isolated from the Internet: 1. wsusutil.exe import export.xml.gz import.log 2. run the software update synchronization from the ConfigMgr console 3. copy the WsusContent folder to your source -server share 4. use the WsusContent folder you copied to your source -server share as the location when creating the SUG T From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [mssms] Importing software updates on a disconnected SCCM server? Date: Fri, 18 Sep 2015 12:11:25 +0000 I have an SCCM server that is going to be in an ‘air gap’ isolated network without any internet access. I am trying to figure out how to import the software updates that have been downloaded from another SCCM server. Appreciate any assistance to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance. 1. Both servers are running SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 2. I have been able to export the metadata using wsusutils.exe and import on the isolated SCCM server. 3. The downloaded software updates have been copied to a local drive on the isolated server. 4. If I choose to download from a location on my network (same server), it fails to find and import. 5. Import fails with cannot find the path specified.
