Solve it but not found the root cause.

One of the links on google was to a youtube video clicked on the link and
got a "your site has been blocked by your IT Support Company" message.

Now Im the support company, so moved to direct connection to the publi IP
address range lan, and got the same errors, so obviously osmething dubious
on laptop.

needed to get on with a job so rather than find the root cause which I
wanted to just restored my C: Drive image from last week and alls good.
