All: Within the last couple of weeks, most of my clients are having issues sending their software inventory information to the server. This all came about when I recently pushed an update to an application we use and I wanted to monitor how many computers have received the updated version. Since the install only 8 machines have returned their results out of several hundred. I've done a lot of research online and haven't been able to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem. When I run a status query for machines that have reported an error I see the errors below. I was able to connect to the WMI of system and it did not show any errors.
I am also seeing .xml files being placed in the ...\sinv.box\bad folder. I cleaned up all the folders thinking a file was corrupt that was causing the process to stop, but that is not the case. My setup is SCCM 2012 w/ SP1 (no CU's) and the client is 5.00.7804.1000 I am at a loss and want to reach out to the group before I contact Microsoft. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. p.s. Was also thinking I should upgrade to SP2, I've already tested the DB on a test box and it ran successfully. Should I go this route? Error: The agent encountered an error while querying WMI to collect data from this computer. The first query to fail was "SELECT Name, Path, LastWriteDate, Size, CompanyName, ProductName, ProductVersion, ProductLanguage, FileVersion, FileDescription FROM FileSystemFile WHERE Name = '*.exe' AND Path = '%ProgramFiles%\\*' AND SkipWindirFolders = TRUE AND IsCompressed = FALSE ". Error: The agent encountered an error while collecting data from this computer.
