Use appcmd to backup and restore? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Dave Lum Sent: Monday, October 12, 2015 8:17 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [NTSysADM] IIS documentation tool
Do any of you guys have a recommendation for a tool that documents an IIS configuration? I am in charge of patching several servers that run IIS and if I run into an issue I have knowing way of knowing what a "known good" configuration is for these sites, ad in some cases neither does the application owner because sometimes it's something they've inherited and therefore didn't set up initially. Ideally it would be something that I would run on all my IIS servers to have a central repository and I would run it again after patching to see if anything changed. Google-Fu looks like it's PowerShell to the rescue. Do any of you do this?
