At little more info:

1. compliance policies will auto remediate if possible

2. If there’s a conflict between compliance policies and configuration
item the policy will always win.

If they are out of compliance their email will stop and they will get an email
letting them know why it’s stopped and how to remediate it.

Thanks for the quick reply, Jason.

So what happens if someone doesn't comply with these policies? Is the mail
profile revoked, or is the issue remediated?

My thought was that Compliance Settings would be remediated, which Compliance
Policy just denies you access to email till you fix it.

Correct. Keep this in mind when reading the documentation and configuring
“things”.

Subject: [mssms] SCCM & Intune : help me understand Compliance Policy vs
Compliance Settings

Hi guys,

I'm getting confused here, using InTune w/ SCCM to replace a third-party MDM
solution for a customer. It seems like there is a lot of duplication of
settings between Compliance Policy and Compliance Settings.

Is Compliance Policy used only for Conditional Access?

I feel like the distinction between the two and especially the documentation
about why you'd want to use these features are pretty murky.

Thanks,

Stephen
