That is definitely longer than normal. Rather than putting all the
individual updates in the Updates folder, have you ensured you are starting
with the Office 2013 SP1 media instead of Office 2013 RTM? Then you can only
include post-SP1 updates.

 

To find out what updates are needed post SP1, you could install Office 2013
SP1 on a test computer and then follow the steps at this article, in the
section entitled "Testing and verifying the windows installer (.msp) files".
This section has a script you can use that will extract all installed
updates for office and then dump them to a target folder. Then you can put
those .msp files into your updates folder.

I just started deploying Office 2013 to our community. I've downloaded all
applicable updates via the WH_Downloader tool and added them to the updates
folder. Office installs within minutes but the subsequent updates take over
an hour. Is this the norm for others who are deploying Office 2013? Approx
1.5-2hour install times?

 

Is there an easier way to slipstream the updates?
