I’ve only used the free product a bit, but there are a couple of things
that I noticed that would concern me, and this may be the same for any
VM-level backup solution.

For domain controllers you really need a System State backup to recover
from. Using VEEAM that doesn’t seem to be an option.

For Exchange Servers it doesn’t seem to be application aware, so the t-logs
aren’t truncated.

Both of these apparent drawbacks could apply to other apps besides AD and
Exchange, of course. I’m bringing this up as more of a question than a
critique because I’ve wondered if I’m correct about this. And possibly my
experiences were because I’m using the free version.

Best solution ever. recovery and availability and replication and testing
so much in front of everyone else there is no contest.
