We want to have a couple stand alone RDS session host servers (2012 R2).
We want them to function like just your regular old terminal server - not
in a farm or anything else. The question I have is, is there a way to
point them to a RDS license server directly? When I look at
get-RDLicenseConfiguration it says a deployment does not exist. Do you
have to have a RDS connection broker for licenses to work? The license
server is good to go and has activated licenses. And it's in the Terminal
server license servers group in AD. But yet these servers keep giving
warnings that the licenses are running out.

I guess my question is, if I want two standalone RDS session host servers
with a shared RDS license server, what do I need to do to accomplish this?
It seems like doing a full blown server farm is easier than doing this and
I'm not sure why.
