I have some older Dell 6410 and 6420 laptops that I cannot get bitlocker to work on. My newer dell laptops work just fine, they are encrypted during the TS. On these older ones however they show as bitlocker being suspended. When I got to TPM administration in Windows it says, "Compatible TPM cannot be found on this computer. Verify the computer has a 1.2 TPM and it is turned on in the BIOS". In the BIOS TPM is enabled and activated. What would cause this?
We've been having a lot of weird issues with Dell TPM's lately actually. Another issue we see constantly is that the TPM cannot be cleared so a computer that was previously imaged can be reimaged. There seems to be some magic sequence in the Dell bios that requires someone to sacrifice a goat, pray to Michael Dell and hold their tongue just right before the TPM can be successfully cleared. ________________________________ John Marcum MCITP, MCTS, MCSA Desktop Architect Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP ________________________________ [H_Logo] ________________________________ Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail is from a law firm and may be protected by the attorney-client or work product privileges.
