Exactly. If your OSD deployment is mandatory, then you won’t get the second F12 prompt (the one in your screenshot).
If your machines are set to attempt PXE booting before booting from the hard drive in the boot order, then you’re going to be fine. If not, then you have a problem. You could probably hit the target machines with a script that sets PXE first in the boot order prior to the intended rebuild, perhaps late in the afternoon. Users shut down their machines at the end of the day and then you hit them with the WOL. When the machines power up they’ll attempt to PXE boot first. Since your OSD deployment will have a mandatory assignment there won’t be the F12 prompt. All you would need to do is include a script in your OSD sequence that reverts back to the original boot order. To get around the first F12 prompt you need to set the BIOS to boot first from PXE From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Hun boy Sent: 19 January 2016 10:14 To: mssms lists.myitforum.com <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Subject: [mssms] PXE With SCCM 2012 WOL Implementation OS deployment Hi Experts, I have sccm 2012 R2 and I wanted to rebuild Machines over Night with Wake one Lan Support. Actually Users will shut down while ending their work hours. Is this possible, because I could see normally twice we need to press F12. Hence asking this question. All I wanted is no action required over the night from any system administrator and the machines will be in Powered off state and must be build automatically.
