USB3 is kind of weird, some implementations may use different USB controllers for the USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 pins on the same port, if you don’t have the correct USB 3.0 drivers installed, your USB 2.0 devices could work, but USB 3.0 devices may fail. Again weird. Try USB 2.0 only devices, Try a USB 3.0 flash device, try adding in a USB 2.0 Hub. Some people have reported having success with USB 3.0, but not USB 2.0.
