I am using packages rather than applications, but I imagine the process is the same.
CustomSettings.ini is one way to go. I think just putting it right in the task sequence is more straightforward. I just have a task sequence step that installs Dell OMCI (or whatever) and then limit the installation to specific Dell models using a WMI query. This seems easier to manage for me than editing the customsettings.ini file. Like so... What I want to do is deploy applications dependant on hardware manufacturer. So For example, if I want to deploy Dell Command | Configure it will only be applied to Dell Laptops/Desktops, but not HP ones. I want to deploy them as mandatory applications and hide them from the Applications Wizard page. I believe I can do what I want via entries in the ConfiguratonSettings.ini file (mandatory Applications) but I don't know how to do the filtering by manufacturer. I have settings in my cs.ini that are done ByLaptop for example, so can I do a ByDell or ByHP and then ByDell True, ByHP True etc? Please can anyone advise BTW, we do not use the Database here.
