The ConfigMgr blog has been updated to try to make that more clear. (When it was published, it couldn’t talk about the November 1511 release because that wasn’t announced yet. Now it’s out.)
Basically, you can manage Windows 10 1507 (the original July release) and Windows 10 1511 (the November release) with ConfigMgr 2012 R2. But to support the next one, e.g. Windows 10 16xx, you will need to move to the ConfigMgr current branch.
