We have a project underway to build out MDM using hybrid SCCM / Intune. It's going well so far, I think.
The one thing that is making my spidey sense tingle is that the Intune portal does not show that the Mobile Device Authority is set correctly for hybrid MDM. History: When we first entered the Intune portal we noted that the Mobile Device Management Authority was set for Office 365. We opened a ticket with Premier on the O365 side to have this reset to a not configured state, per our consultant. Premier agreed that this is how it should be set if you intend to use SCCM as the MDM Authority. After about 4 days, Premier said it was configured, we're closing the ticket. However, in Intune, it says the MDM Authority is "Set to Microsoft Intune and Office 365" Both our consultant and me questioned this. Premier insisted it was reset on the back end and that we should continue. They agreed it was odd that the MDM Authority did not say it was not configured in some way on the Intune Portal, but again, the back end looks good. We set up the connector in SCCM and have continued forward. Everything seems to work so far. We have enrolled Android, IOS and Windows Phone 8.1 and performed actions on them from SCCM. It seems our Conditional Exchange policy is working as I accidentally blocked my own email by enforcing it on Windows. (Learning is fun!) But as I did research over the weekend, nothing I read indicated that the verbiage for MDM Authority had changed (I do get this is a cloud service after all and documentation lags at times.) I don't trust that this is all copacetic. What is your experience? How should the MDM Authority read on the Intune Portal? Am I heading for another Premier ticket with O365? Is there any benefit to open a Premier ticket with the ConfigMgr group? We have Tier 3 support. Thank you very much.
