And if you ARE using BranchCache and CloudDP then you should install both
the BranchCache feature and DP Role on the site server.

- Cloud DPs do not use CDN so there is no ability for your Cloud DP
infrastructure to support location awareness

- Cloud DPs have a data transfer cost associated with their use.
This may drive you to use Branch Cache to mitigate this expense

- Cloud DPs do not support BITs therefore you have no ability to
control download bandwidth within CM

- For the reason above, Branch Cache support will only function if
the client is running an Enterprise SKU

- Cloud DPs will warn you if they are exceeding bandwidth count.
They do not automatically scale up or down – you have to do that through
your own automation.

- Cloud DP can only ever be used as a secondary content location. If
a client can see the content on an intranet based DP then they will prefer
that one regardless

Subject: [mssms] Cloud DP Gotchas

Hi folks

I wanted to ask a quick question on Cloud DPs. Any gotchas that folks have
encountered?
