A few Questions
Will you be using MDT standalone or with database or with SCCM?

In my org we use MDT with SCCM and we have built an integration with our asset
management system. We do assign a unique computer name in the asset system and
binds it to that Assets mac.

That data then populates the MDT database together with the information on
which tasq sequence should be run for that box.

We then got a prestart command specified on our bootimage that contacts the MDT
database and reads the data from there, eliminating the need for user input

Ämne: [MDT-OSD] Server Computer Name duplicate check

Hi All,

I have been asked to implement some form of validation of the computer name
before OSD commences, making sure the name inputted does not already exist.

Any advice on which direction to take and what to stay away from?

Cheers

Aaron Douglas
