A few Questions Will you be using MDT standalone or with database or with SCCM?
In my org we use MDT with SCCM and we have built an integration with our asset management system. We do assign a unique computer name in the asset system and binds it to that Assets mac. That data then populates the MDT database together with the information on which tasq sequence should be run for that box.
