The bug is with the SMI API that we use in WinPE to edit Unattend.xml. We first hit that when staging the boot image and frankly didn't go past that. But there are other places along the way where SMI is used when injecting values into the XML. But yes, that hotfix corrects the schema.dat for SMI, so should address all such issues.
