It does not have a touchscreen, no.

TPM is enabled and activated in the BIOS. When he was working with MS
yesterday, the rep tried adding the TPM key protector manually and was unable.
No matter what she did, it always booted up to the recovery screen.

We've never had any issues with Bitlocker until this bunch of new Dells arrived
with TPM 2.0.

Does it have a touch screen? I have had to use this on some machines that have
a physical keyboard and a touchscreen.

Is the TPM Enabled AND Activated in the BIOS?

Can you manually add a TPM key protector in Windows?

Thanks,

Subject: [mssms] Bitlocker and TPM 2.0 on newer Dell laptops

Has anyone experienced any issues enabling Bitlocker on the Dell Exx70's which
have TPM 2.0? We are seeing some issues. This is what a co-worker of mine sent
me.

Here is what is happening when I try to encrypt using Bitlocker on a Dell
Latitude E5570. The E5570 has a TPM 2.0 chip. I am using Windows 10 on the
computer. I have set the usual local GPO settings for Bitlocker and turned on
TPM in the bios. When I try to encrypt the computer, it goes through the steps
like it is going to encrypt, but it fails. Here is the error I receive.
"Bitlocker could not be enabled. The Bitlocker encryption key could not be
obtained from the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and enhanced PIN. Try using a
PIN containing only numerals. C: was not encrypted." If I use only numerals,
it will encrypt but only boots up to the recovery key option.

Haven't been able to find much on Google about this other than a MS hotfix but
that's for Windows 7, we are using Windows 10. We confirmed that we're running
the latest version of the BIOS. We submitted a ticket to Microsoft and they are
doing research on their end but we're thinking this is an issue with Dell and a
BIOS update will be required to fix it. Just curious if anyone else has run
into this.
