Need some design advice, We have recently started virtualization of our physical servers for the express purpose of reducing RPO RTO. So we have a Nimble SAN doing replication to a DR Nimble San. A VMware cluster at each end. The replication is uses a 1GB link. When we do synchronized snapshots of Nimble volumes which triggers a VMware snapshot which triggers the VSS writers in the appropriate guests. The snapshot succeeds and replicates But ... If the guest is running MSSQL, most of the client PCs running Dynamics Accounting experience connection problems, causing errors and a restart of the client app. When pinging the virtual server during a snapshot at least 3 pings are lost. VMWare says this is normal.
