Seems like a resonable idea, though the controller may require more current than the battery can provide. Have you metered the voltage of the battery to be sure it stays 9V while connected? Is 9V the absolute miminum the controller will take? I have to ask, are you certain of the polarity connections? I don't have one to play with and have no experience...yet. -=Doug
