Yeah some parts of the concept are available, but it
will still require some fab.

when I was researching.  I used "compensator" in the
search.

If this type of compensator was chosen, two identical
parts are needed.  The middle would have to be welded
together or fabbed.  Requires fabbing the selector,
the case, and the shaft [longer].  The ratio would be
changing sprocket size which hopefully requires no
fabbing there.
