I'm trying to start out with a simple project - electrifing a mini-bike. I've got the frame together, motor mounted (36V ~1HP PM mower motor from an Elec-Trak), and three gel-cell batteries (20A-H). I've run it from 2 batteries and a simple on-off switch and it seems like it's got some promise. So now I need to invest in a controller. I've thought about just a simple two or three switch controller (12V, 24V , or 36V), but I'd really like to use a 'real' controller. I've been looking at some from 4QD and others. Any suggestions?

Hi ya Steve,

I picked up a cheap Curtis controller on eBay awhile back. I don't remember which model it was but it was less than $60. Something like a model 1201 at 36v 200amp maybe? I dunno. It sits here waiting for a new chassis to go into.
