What voltage input are you using? For 48-60VDC you can pick up a 13A unit for

For higher voltage systems, one of our FL EAA members is using an aux battery 
and keeps it charged off of the pack batteries via a smallunit like this: 
http://www.mpja.com/productview.asp?product=14628+PS

This unit is rated for AC input, but accepts DC input without a problem. For 
$10, its a real bargin.
