And the next project is a solar charger, three salvaged Sharp panels (I have them already, hi-voltage grid-tie units), a solar charge controller, a battery bank, and an inverter adequate to handle the six 6A chargers on the bike. The solar charger is a bit convoluted, ideal would be an 84 volt array and no intermediate batteries or inverter, but charge controllers for 84 volts do not exist, so it is easiest to build a universal 120 volt solar supply. Gathering the other parts may take some time, definitely a bit of money I don't have budgeted yet, hmmm.

You might consider trying a dump charger. It looks like you are dealing with an 84 volt solar pack and a 72 volt pack on your motorcycle. All you need is a beefy setup of cables and contactor and you can recharge your depleted motorcycle pack from your solar pack in a hurry, at least for the initial parts of the bulk charge. You have to monitor things closely, and it is hard to get the dump charger to do anything useful towards the end of charge, but you can easily get several hours worth of work for your 6 amp chargers done in 20 to 30 minutes by dump charging. It could even be enough to send you out for another 10+ mile trip.
