I have no cooling for the motor beyond its internal fan. The heat pipe is for Zilla motor controller which is normally water cooled using a recirculating pump. The heat pipe requires no moving parts or power draw. There is no fan , just forced air thru the rad when the bike is moving. The motor is a bit of an over kill for my use so I'm not worried about over heating it on my 15 mile round trip commute on flat city streets. me

Mark How do you have the heat pipe set up to cool the motor. I was thinking of a small 12 volt fan connected to my dc to dc converter to pipe cool air from the front of my fairing directly into one side of my PMG to help keep the rotor cool... I am also playing with the idea of using a second fan to pull hot air away, or maybe mount both as exhaust with a large pipe connected to the fairing front, hmmm. Ideas? BTW: For now I have modified my driving to slowly roll-on the throttle to lower the heat gained (no more dumping full throttle) unless I have some bizarre need to fry my motor (NOT), at $800 not a good idea. Riding my bike daily to work, 8 miles round trip. Posted speed limit 45 tops, course I HAD to go 60 mph (indicated) at least once! Buttoned up the Freccia looks awesome. Hope to try a run down into Boulder, CO from Broomfield (14 miles), charge over the day at a friend's house in S. Boulder and try the hill climb back up to Broomfield the weekend after the 4th.
