The newest version of Paktrakr has a two line display and one button for each
line to control the display. Generally I leave the first line display as the
fuel gage. The second line is usually either state of charge in % which is
finer than the 6 level fuel gage or I might have it in the rotating display
between the 6 batteries showing individual voltage. I like the ambient
temperature reading however it seems to be reading that from the sensor device
which hooks to the batteries and lives under the seat so the temp is higher
than in free air, ooh-ooh! Maybe I can relocate the sensor device to the motor
housing to read motor temp!! Right now I am using a hand-held laser temperature
device, and temps inside the motor housing can easily go above 200 degrees with
a few full throttle runs from dead start. Make sure you tell people you let use
the bike to gradually increase throttle.

I have been measuring battery temps, the AGMs I have been using with the PWM
chargers from Electricross have NOT been cooking which I was worried about, the
Universal AGMs can take 14.5 to 14.9v max charge rate. I am very curious as to
the life to be expected with the very shallow discharges my bike is
experiencing before charge (4 miles to work, max speed generally 45mph). I am
tending to charge after the lunch run of 2 miles, then riding home and starting
charge as I go off to bed.

Check it out...
