meaning: it makes a difference whether you push air down a tube, like a coal mine ventilator, or just blow air like 
pedestal fan. much can be learned from the Dayton and Grainger catalogs. The velocity of the air matters too, though I 
haven't got enough basic physics to understand it myself.
