This is a great idea and I really encourage all riders to go to trackdays and classes like CLASS and Star and Code etc. Warning: its how I started racing. If you have never done a trackday, you'll be amazed at riding on good pavement, no cars - rv - trucks, no limits, safety equipment and so on.

road racing world has a complete list of trackday organizations for the whole country. googling trackdays might work too, but some will have lousy SEO and not show up.
the forums at wera.com are also an indirect source.

Trust me you won't want to be organizing your own trackday ( insurance, red tape, mucho hassle, ambulance, corner workers, money etc) but you can get an existing org to give you a group discount. Couple of points: you'll need enough riders to form a separate group. It won't be safe to share a track with the R6s and GSXR1000s. Expect costs to fall between $100 and $300 per person depending on the track.

If the argument against your own day is not obvious, email me off list.

Hey listers,

What is a good resource for finding track locations? Specifically, in the Michigan,Illinois,Indiana, and
Ohio area.

I want to see what it would take to organize a track
day, NO GUARANTEES..yet. I Just want a bunch of us to
get to gether and do some trips around a track without
getting too involved about creating standards for
racing. Sort like the beginning of the bug-ins and
nascar. If it gets good then we can go into following
FIA standards of racing.
In my case I still have to build mine AND drive up
from GA, but I still want to know what it will take to
get us together.

I guess I could also ask shawn waggoner how BBB was
done, also. But I figure different region and maybe
different rules.

Look for ideas,

Lyle
