I have 4-40ah Hawkers in my bike. For the current charger that is installed, I
have a Powermaster that I got on line. Stats are 48v @ 20 amps.
My commute is 11.5 miles, with an unavoidable 3 mile 60mph leg. I use more on
that then the rest of the trip. My batts are discharged to 40-50% going to
work. I am not sure exactly on the charge time, somewhere between 3-4 hours.
The return leg is more strain on the batterys because i run the streets first,
then after the batts are discharged down to 80% i hit the hi-way and run 60mph.
This takes them to 35% reserve. Charge time at home is a little longer, but not
by much. The battery temp monitor never alarms so all it good.
I have super fast charged them at 40 amps, until 80% (up from 35%) but always
watched it close and stopped at 80%. They never got hot which is why i chose
these batts.
