Just another update...

In preparation for the Sunday Challenge, we have been working on
building our own timing gear to use for the autocross and sccotercross
events for the club at these larger events. In the past, for the BBB, we
have used Shenandoah Valley Governor School's timing equipment they
bring down and have not had our own. Well, now we do!

Matt Graham was able to get 2 industrial photo switches donated to the
club and he and I put the hardware together this week. Cris Estanislao
volunteered to write an application in LabView for the timing. Well, he
did much more than that! He delivered an awesome application that not
only does the timing, but race and driver management as well. It allows
for up to 50 drivers and 12 runs per driver, penalties, DNF's and
exports it all out to Excel when the race is over. We tested it today at
Coastal Tire (Thanks Bob!) today and it works great. We now have our
very own timing equipment and race management software - a similar
commercial version would have been over $400, we built for under a $100!!

Huge thanks goes to Matt and Cris for helping make this happen, this is
going to be a huge asset to the club!!!

Thanks,

Shawn Waggoner
