Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that we have nominations for all 4
positions that are up for election. However, we only had 1 nomination for
each position! So, here are the uncontested nominations for the next term:

President - Shawn Waggoner
Vice President - Lowell Simmons
Treasurer - Matt Graham
Secretary - Bob Fuerstenau

Because all the positions are uncontested, we will not be doing the voting
at the next meeting as planned. So congratulations to everyone!

Just because the basic positions are filled doesn't mean we don't need more
help. If you have some time and would like to help out, the club can
certainly use it! There is always lots to do and various projects going on,
media to contact and small events to be planned. Anyone interested in
volunteering, please let me know!!!

At the next meeting (Jan 12th), we will be discussing Battery Beach Burnout
and working hard on getting some good progress in on the FLEAA electric kart
project.

See everyone there!

Subject: [FLEAA] Meeting Reminder and Announcements (BBB & Elections)

Hi Everyone,

Just a friendly reminder that the regular monthly meeting is this upcoming
Saturday at Coastal Tire in Boca Raton at 9AM as usual. Coffee and doughnuts
will be available as always.

This month we will have two projects lined up for the technical session for
the meeting! Lowell Simmons of Miramar High School will be bringing over one
of their cars, their Electric Ford Probe to be worked on. They are getting
it ready to compete at BBB next January and need to finish up the cabling
etc. Lowell thought it would be a good tech session for everyone to get
their hands on a street legal EV for some good hands-on experience. The
controller needs to be installed and all the batteries need to be cabled up
and secured. There is plenty of hands-on for wiring and cabling to get the
Probe running by the end of the meeting. He has all the parts to get it
driving by the end of the day. The plan is to tackle it to take it from
rolling to running. We will also have the FLEAA electric kart chassis and
parts there to start on that project. There is going to be lots to do this
month for those that would like some good hands-on experience!!

A couple of other items to be aware of:

1) Battery Beach Burnout is planned to be January 25th and 26th at
Countyline Dragway in Dade County, 1/4 mile south of the Broward/Dade County
Line. Information will be posted on the FLEAA website soon.

2) Elections are coming up next January and the final votes and tally will
be at the monthly meeting January 12th. The FLEAA has 4 elected positions
that are up for vote: President, VP, Treasurer and Secretary. Nominations
are now being accepted for any of the 4 positions. Anyone interested in
running for one of those positions or nominating someone, please send an
email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Nominations will close December 21st. On
December 21st I will send out a list of all the nominations (for those that
accepted the nomination). Ballots will be accepted in person at the January
meeting and for those of you who will not be able to attend the Jan meeting,
they can be mailed in to:

FLEAA (Elections)
C/O Coastal Tire
35 SW 1st Ave
Boca Raton, FL 33432

Please be sure to sign the back of the envelope. All ballots will be opened
and counted there in person. Also, to vote, you must be a paid member of
the FLEAA. Our meetings are open to anyone and everyone; however, to cast
your vote, you must be a paid member. We are also asking that anyone who
would like to hold an office for the FLEAA, please make the commitment to
attending at least 2 meetings per quarter (2 out of 3). The FLEAA is growing
and we need active/willing members to hold these positions to help keep the
club growing.

Thanks everyone, hope to see everyone for the meeting and workshop this
weekend!!!
