I read these posts re: all the cool things going on in S. Florida, and I use it to fund my energy to get a N. Florida subchapter going. Otherwise, I would be gnashing my teeth with jealousy that you guys are having all the fun. My husband & daughter just got back from the United Nations Peace Conference in NYC day before yesterday, so we are trying to piece together our systems of order, etc. So we cannot make the trip down to Miami at this time for your weekend EV things. A quick update on our summer trip - the Electric Vehicle Initiative. I must say that Charles Whalen is the most incredible facilitator that I have ever seen. He literally made it all happen for our family to connect with the expertise we needed and with the people we needed to talk to in order for us to get a plug-in conversion done on our Prius. Dick Dell, of Advance Vehicle Research Center has put us in the que to get our Prius converted with the A 123 Gen 2 lithium battery kit. They will probably send their mobile team to Florida next month to convert ours and 2 or 3 other Priuses. That will let us meet our time goals for this summer's trip. Again, big thanks to Charles for all he did to make this happen. All FLEAA folks please stay in tune as the trip develops as we will need each of you who has an EV or who has interest in moving in that direction to join us when and where you can as we progress from N. FL to S. FL and back and all points in between from early June to late July. Also I will need advice (plenty of it) as we plan our presentations. Thanks to all of you. Fran
