You have just received the first of the EVI (Electric Vehicle Initiative) blog.
Soon the blog will include video about our developing trip. Until that tech
development we will try to keep you as dynamically connected with the EVI as
possible.
Our Hybrid is Becoming a PHEV!
We will be getting our conversion of our Toyota Prius done at the end of June
(next month)! A conversion team will be coming down to Tallahassee from the
Advanced Vehicle Research Center in Raleigh, NC. We are now setting up our
timing and destinations for July and August for the trip. A big thanks to those
of you who have followed our plans thus far, and to those who have helped at
crucial points. A special thanks to members of the Florida Electric Automotive
Association who have encouraged and supported us. A special thanks to Charles
Whalen who donated his ideas, connections, expertise and incredible wordsmith
abilities. And to James Culp of Progress Energy who inserted a word at the
right time to the right person. And to those of you who have expressed an
interest in joining all or some of the EVI trip, our schedule will be firming
up soon to help you plan your time so that you can be involved when it fits
your summer plans. I hope that the Florida EVI will become a template that
other states can use and build on to promote plug-in hybrids and Evs in their
states.
