I think we are a bit spread out to have one big club with one meeting for everyone. I dont think it would be fair to ask people to drive long distances for a meeting with the price of gas going like it is. Ted in fort myers has the longest to drive and asking him to drive to oldsmar would be a but unfair even though his insight gets great gas mileage!
Lets split up the group into the west coast including citrus county down to hillsborough county and then have the south west coast chapter from manatee south. The mouth of the bay is a great dividing point and makes sense to also divide the west coast of florida into a west coast from the panhandle to the bay and a south west coast from the bay to fort myers. As more EVers pop up in the fort myers/naples area that can have its own region unless ted already has them in order there. George has a great shop up here in tarpon springs (except for air conditioning! LOL) that the west coast can meet at. I remember darren in sarasota talking about using his shop for a meeting shop if he has room. The biggest concentrations for us are the pasco/pinellas/hillsbourgh county area and the bradenton/sarsota area. Sarasota is an hour from tampa. I know AL is out in polk county and sarasota/bradenton would be his closest meeting place. Ted in fort myers would like to go to sarasota and I dont blame him a bit!!! I think if we have local regional meetings it will be easier for all and better for all. I would gladly travel to both meeting places. I will get with george this week to finalize the arrangements for the 21st for us up here on the west coast in tarpon springs. The following weekend, the 28th, Ted has said he could make a meeting in sarasota. I can make it as well and would be happy to give anyone a ride from pasco county and inbetween down to sarasota or wherever everyone in the bradenton/sarasota area decides. The latest wired magazine article showing how ZAP for 10 years has been promising to have the car ready to buy has just done that promised with no car. We have all been saying we want to meet up and get the club officially started so lets not follow in ZAP's footste
