Hey FLEAA Folks,
I was talking with Steve Walters (owner of Alternative Automotive of
Sarasota) who had just gotten back from Paul Liddle's shop (see
www.EVporsche.com) for some serious EV training. Steve has an EV project that
he wants to tell us about at the end of the meeting so the plan is to adjourn
the meeting to Steve's shop (which is about a mile from the library). This will
be a very important to those of us who are planning to do our own conversions.
Steve's shop will be available as a recharge station for anyone driving their
EV to this meeting.
I plan to send out the agenda and directions tonight for our August 16th
meeting (Fruitville Library, Sarasota, 10:00 am) so stay tuned.
Thanks,
John Batchelder
That is VERY good news. Another anchor conversion shop on the west coast.
We will also be able to carry on a meeting followed by a technical workshop
just like tarpon springs. Sarasota now has the advantage in having air
conditioning!
We now have a club project for SuncoastEVA. Bob Macdonald from weirsdale
has agreed to sell me a 1981 Jet Industries Mercury Linx. Its in rough shape
and not running. Ill have it at the next meeting. As far as the date for the
next meeting I was thinking the first saturday in September and have all
meetings the first Saturday of the month from then on. This will allow members
to be at the SuncoastEVA meeting on the first saturday, the FLEAA meeting in
boca raton the second saturday, and the Sarasota club on the third saturday.
how does that work for everyone?
