Al,

If you want to pay to flatbed one of my RAV4-EVs up there and back (must be
flatbedded, no tow dollies please), I'd be happy to ship one up there to you
for your meeting. If you want an in-depth explanation (including a lot of
technical battery stuff) on why it's not a good idea for the car to be
driven up there at this time of the year and at this stage of the batteries'
life (coming up on 7 years), plus the amount of time it would take to do so,
etc., I'd be happy to provide a very detailed explanation. So I guess it
really depends on how badly you want to have a RAV4-EV there. If you want
one badly enough to pay to flatbed one up there and back, I'd be happy to
oblige in support of your efforts. I would also drive my Honda Civic
(non-hybrid, regular old gasser, sits unused, so needs a workout anyway) up
there to your meeting for a daytrip up and back.

Otherwise, on a separate but related topic, Shawn Waggoner and I have
informally discussed and kicked around some ideas about the possibility of
staging large FLEAA events in Central Florida/Space Coast/west coast areas
during the wintertime. All very preliminary, and I can't and shouldn't get
out ahead of established processes and normal channels for such
communications and decisions, but I'll just say that I am very much in favor
of seeing the FLEAA sponsor more such big events in Central Florida/Space
Coast/west coast areas, as we had done with Space Coast Clean Cities
Coordinator and founding FLEAA member Bill Young in working with him to
co-sponsor FSEC's SunDay Challenge last October, which was a great success,
especially thanks to the many folks there in the Central Florida/Space
Coast/west coast areas who brought their EVs and participated (including
yourself).

The more we can time-shift such big events into the cooler months of
November through March, the easier it will be -- just speaking for myself
personally, with 7 year old battery packs and very exothermic battery
chemistry -- to drive one of my RAV4-EVs such long distances. I could
probably make a couple of extended road trips during the cooler months and
would like to see some smaller events (including even just regular FLEAA
regional chapter meetings) scattered around the Central Florida, Space
Coast, and west coast areas consolidated in time in a coordinated fashion
with a big, major FLEAA-sponsored event in one of those areas, so that I
could attend a few such events with one of my RAV4-EVs on a single road trip
spread out over 12 days or so.

Just my 2 cents worth of thoughts for today. :-)

Mike,

Thanks forr the support.

It would be nice, and I know this asking a lot, to have a RAV4 EV, an E-Box
and a Plug-In Prius there also.

No need to explain, if this is not possible, I undersstand. On the other
hand, if anyone can figure out how to get one or another of thesee here, let
me know. I would be happy to provide overnight accomodations for a RAV4 EV
driver aor an E Box driver. I have two double, spared rooms.

I have a 120V, 20 amp outlet and one 120 Volt, 30 amp outlet. I do not have
a convienient 220 volt outlet. Andrew has gotten a 220 volt outlet set up
for use in Lake Wales which is less than 30 miles away.

Cheers,

Plug-in, we have the technology, the NiMH powered RAV4 EV is the proof.
